Nature, Music and ancestral Andean Cultures….inspire the creation of my works from my viewpoint and feelings, searching to share beauty as I find, capture and interpret it from those sources that catch my attention and are part of my life.

Path, search, reflection, transition, encounter, expression, rebirth….. are some words that define my creative process as an image of my inner search. It’s the creative energy of my soul, calm and restless, which motivates and flows in each of my works, with a tremendous healing power through self-understanding and revelation, all which keeps me in contact with my essential being.

My work as an artist includes disciplines such as paint, sculpture and textile, using various techniques that include painting, dyeing, knotting, sewing, molding, enamelling and composing. In a transition from painting to textile works is where my artistic work is now. Highlighting the ancestral legacy of Andean cultures and native people, my project has a starting point in the Khipu created by the Incas. Khipu means knot in Quechua language, one of the original Andean languages, and it is composed of a textile with knots that the Incas used as a tool for counting and registering goods in their empire. Capturing what is ancestral and Andean, it emerges in my creative process at first as an experimental process, to later develop and expand. Through my textile works I generate a dialogue and contact among several materials, that follow a guiding theme, which focuses on multiple knots that generate rhythms, sequences and textures as if it were a musical composition, where the mixture of light and shadows provide a dynamism that highlights its volume. In what becomes a profusion of strings and knots as the composing elements, I go discovering a language that expresses subtleness in the textile as an expression of beauty contained in simplicity.

A work for which I am passionate, that moves and invites me to continue searching, experimenting and creating variants within the same concept. From what is native to contemporary, I go tying languages that express a connection that has no time, a view that looks back to our roots to flow in present times.

Art, Music and life in nature, are essential in my creative process.

Art is sharing who I am through my works.
